University Forest teaching and research center closes after more than 60 years
The education center is situated on 160 acres in north Butler County, MO. Within a few minutes' drive are Lake Wappapello, Mingo Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, Duck Creek Wildlife Area, and the Black and St. Francis River watersheds.

The University Forest Environmental Education Center is located at the southeast edge of the Missouri Ozarks, a unique and remote wildland habitat that provides first-hand experiences in upland and bottomland forest ecology. ![]()
